Klamath National Forest is another significant and diverse forest located in northern California, along the Oregon border. It spans across Siskiyou County and a small portion of Humboldt County. The forest encompasses a diverse range of landscapes, including mountainous terrain, dense forests, and high plateaus.
McCloud Waterfalls Trail is a 6.3 kilometer heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Mccloud, California that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels.
Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens encompass ten acres of hilly, wooded area with a meadow containing the various gardens. Playground area and picnic sites border the beautiful Upper Sacramento River. The location is just uphill of the baseball park where Babe Ruth once played, and the Alexander Dunsmuir Fountain.
Just north of Dunsmuir is one of the loveliest walks you could ever imagine. A 5-mile hike down the winding, serene path, leading to beautiful Hedge Creek Falls. There is a little cave behind the fall where you can look through the fall into the beautiful forest.
